  • Curriculum development & presentation. Develop technical support tools.

  • Manage submission and distribution of ideas for SCO's Support Library product (IT scripts). Write technical support documents. Create new support procedures. Actively participate in team-based management.

Support Engineer
Jan 1987 to Mar 1989 Austec/Ryan-McFarland Inc., San Jose

  • Developed and performed QA, regression testing, and benchmarks on a wide array of UNIX-based platforms.

  • Created special documentation and procedures for inclusion in quality assurance, product installation and release notes, newsletters, and training courses.

  • Created sophisticated yet easy-to-use networked COBOL demonstration system.

  • Provided vital link between customers/prospects, sales, engineering, and marketing with technical support for Austec and RM/COBOL products. Responsible for Western Hemisphere support for Austec's ACE product line.

  • Design, programming, conversions, and support of INFORMIX-SQL/C application software in UNIX-based environments. Clients included a professional sports team, a booking agency for musical groups, and a scientific instrument company.

  • Performed a major conversion of data files using C into the INFORMIX dbms.

Oct 1977 to Mar 1984 NCR Corp., San Jose Branch

  • Pre- and post-sales technical support and programming of COBOL-based application software packages on NCR's interactive series of computers. Packages included manufacturing (IMCS-II, MRPS), wholesale (INV, O/P, S/A), general accounting (A/R, A/P, G/L, P/R), and municipalities/schools (Utility Billing, Budgetary).

  • Created, organized, and presented a series of seminars in Northern Calif. and Nevada demonstrating a COBOL-based word processing system. Followed through in the installation, training, and support of this product.
